2nd Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Brady Simmer &
The Brady Simmer Retinoblastoma Awareness Foundation Follow Up

Grand Total of $23,680 in Donations!

Hosted by "Brady's Angels" Scott Tinkler & Billy Ingersoll

Dear family, friends, and colleagues,

I just want to thank each and everyone of you that donated, forwarded my original letter, and assisted in making the second annual Brady Simmer Foundation's fund-raiser a tremendous success.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge some individuals that played an important part of this process. Billy and Yvette Ingersoll, who helped organize the entire fund-raiser, and took time out of their busy schedules (and fight all the traffic) to also be at the finish-line. Ms. Perla Ramos, who was responsible for tracking (and collecting) and the donations from the very generous AWT office employees. Jim Pizzutelli, of the Florida Panthers, who unselfishly distributed a pledge sheet, and ensured the team was well aware of what of goal we were attempting to accomplish. Mrs. Laura Sorci, who beautifully embroidered the shirt that I wore during the race. My training partners, Marta Jara & Tobi Russo, who met me every week, rain or shine, and helped me prepare both physically and mentally for the challenges of the marathon. And finally, my wife Kristina, who endured many early Saturday mornings, took care of my boys, Rocky & Jack, and knew when to pat me on the back, and when I needed a kick in the butt. She is my strength, and without her support, this event would not have been possible.

On a very personal note, I want to thank Jeff & Lori Simmer for giving me the privilege of representing their family, and allowing me the honor of being associated with such a strong, resilient, and inspirational young boy, Brady. What a pleasant surprise to have the Simmer family waiting for me at the end of the race. Once I saw them, and asked if I could push Brady's stroller for the duration of the course, I realized that all the pain in my body was temporary, but the memory of taking Brady across the finish-line would last us a lifetime. I used "us" because every one of you were with me, helping push his stroller.

I am very pleased to announce that we collected a grand total of $23,680.00!!!!!

Thank you all so very much for your generous support. Please remember, the marathon is over, but Brady's battle is not. Please keep the Simmer family in your prayers.

Best regards,

Scott Tinkler

2nd Annual Fundraiser to Benefit Brady Simmer &
The Brady Simmer Retinoblastoma Awareness Foundation

Hosted by "Brady's Angels" Scott Tinkler & Billy Ingersoll

The Second Annual Fundraiser has officially been launched by "Brady's Angels", Scott Tinkler & Billy Ingersoll. They have taken on this completely selfless crusade to raise money for our son to receive treatment outside of the United States. Scott & Billy both have full time jobs and families of their own. Scott is the man whom will be running this 28k marathon on January 28, 2007 and Billy is responsible for managing the pledges & donations. When Scott & Billy made the commitment to run this marathon (for the 2nd year), Scott wrote Brady's name on his shoes along with the names of his own children, and said that they would be his inspiration. It was our intent to have Brady meet Scott on the finish line; but unfortunately this will not be possible as Brady is scheduled for chemotherapy that weekend. Scott reassured us that regardless, Brady would be with him every step of the way. Scott & Billy are a blessing to our family. We are eternally grateful to have these men as our friends and that is why we have nicknamed them 'Brady's Angels". To participate in this fundraiser, make a pledge or donation, please contact Scott Tinkler at scott@aventuralimo.com or Billy Ingersoll at billyvet@bellsouth.net. Dear family, friends, and colleagues,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season.

I have two important reasons for writing this letter.

The first is to inform you all about a very special little boy, Brady Simmer.  For those of you familiar with his story, please bear with me.  Brady was born with a very rare form of Childhood Ocular Cancer called Retinoblastoma.  To give you some information about this disease, only 1 child in every 18,000 live births is affected by retinoblastoma. There are approximately 300 cases of Retinoblastoma diagnosed per year in the United States.  In 60% of the cases the cancer affects one eye; however, 40% of the cases are bilateral (affecting both eyes) and about 40% of those cases are hereditary.  The remaining cases are what they call a sporadic mutation.  Brady was not only born with non-hereditary bilateral Retinoblastoma; but he has been considered by his doctor to have “the worst case in the United States in a decade”. Last year, I learned about Brady’s condition, and wanted to help.  I ran the Miami Marathon to raise money for Brady and his family.  William Ingersoll and I started a fund-raiser, and with the help of some very generous individual’s, collected close to $6,000 (in only four days!!).

Now for the second reason.  On Sunday, January 28 (1/28), I will again be running the Miami Marathon in honor of Brady Simmer.  Please join me in helping to raise money for Brady.  Donations can be made on a per mile basis, or one lump sum for the race.  There is no minimum, and any money pledged, regardless of the amount, will be appreciated.   As the father of two healthy young boys, I realize how blessed I am, and want to help a family that has had to battle through much adversity.  The Simmer’s have endured a lot of emotional stress due to Brady’s condition, so whether you donate or not, please keep them in your prayers.

For donation information, please contact William Ingersoll (billyvet@bellsouth.net), or Lori Simmer (llm51570@yahoo.com).*

All donations are tax-deductible.
